7 Habits that Can Make you Look Older than Your Age

It is surprising to note that many people especially in developing countries like Nigeria look far older than their mates who live in developed countries of the world.

 

 

Some times we attribute this to environment and better living conditions that exist in the temperate regions but the truth is that because of Ignorance many people live a lifestyle that makes them older than their age.

In this article, we want to explain to you some of these lifestyle

1. Not eating fruits and vegetables

 

 

Our appearance largely depend on the food we eat. The human body needs a lot of fruits and vegetables. Most Fruits and vegetables contain vitamin C and antioxidants. Vitamin C is essential in the production of collagen which helps to make the skin youthful and glowing.

On the other hand, Antioxidants supports the body in eliminating free radicals which are disease causing agents produced as a result of body metabolism.

Vitamin C also supports human immune system that helps us fight against diseases.

Some fruits also contain Lycopene. Lycopene helps the body to eliminate the impact of dangerous sun rays on the human skin.

2. Frowning

Many people find it difficult to smile. They allow the daily cares and worries to affect their appearance and looks. This is very dangerous. A smile helps in reducing stress hormones. Your mood also helps in your blood pressure.

So a smile goes a long way to brighten your appearance and make you look younger. In the other hand, the more you frown and look worried, collagen in your body is dried up leading to premature aging.

3. Avoid exposure to hot sunshine

The sun does a lot of good to our body. At the same time, hot sunshine also darkens our skin and also affects our eye negatively. So we must avoid exposure to hot sunshine. Wear sunglasses and sun shade to protect our body against dangerous sun rays.

So exposing your body to hot sun rays like staying exposed in the sun between 11am to 4pm can make one grow older.

4. Not taking balanced diet

Some people as a result of poverty or ignorance do not take balanced diet. A balanced diet is a diet that contains all the six food nutrients. These food nutrients include carbohydrate, proteins, fats and oil, vitamins, minerals and water.

If a person does not eat food that is balanced, he will tend to look older than his age.

5. Using dangerous body creams and soap

Some people hasten the shrinking of their body by using some dangerous medicated and bleaching creams or soaps. Some of these creams are too harsh on the skin that they will lead to burns that are irreparable to the body. Some may cause skin cancers.

6. Smoking

Smoking is very dangerous to the human body. It leads to premature death and also shrinks the skin and destroys major organs of the body. All these effects affect the appearance of a human being thereby making him look more older.

7. Not taking enough water

Always don’t underestimate the importance of water in your body. Water is the most important solvent that carries the major nutrients of the body to the various cells. So always take enough water, so that your cells will remain hydrated. Failure to drink enough water will make the body look older than it should.
