The womb which can also be called uterus is a hollow, pear-shaped organ located in a woman’s lower abdomen between the bladder and the rectum. The narrow, lower portion of the uterus is the cervix. The upper part is called the corpus.


The womb is very delicate and can be affected. There are so many women out there who cannot conceive due to the bad lifestyle there adopt. Frequent abortion, drinking of alcohol and intake of hard drugs and some of the things that can damage the womb.






There is a type of womb disease called endometriosis which normally takes place in the pelvic area. This occurs when the tissue present in the uterus grows out of place. This tissue is called endometirium. Some of the signs and symptoms of this womb disease include:


· Pelvic pain.


· Pain with bowel movements and urination.


· Fatigue.


· Diarrhea.


· Bloating.


· Constipation.


· Intense cramping.


· Heavy periods or bleeding between periods.


· Increased pain during intercourse.




There are certain things that can increase your risk of developing womb disease. Some of them include: prior uterine surgery, such as C-section, fibroid removal and dilation, childbirth, middle age, etc.


There are certain things that can damage your womb when you take too much of it. Some of them include;


1. A diet high in trans fat





Research has shown that too much intake of foods high in trans fat can increase your risk of endometriosis. Excess trans fat is not healthy for the body especially for women. Studies has also shown that endometriosis affects about 10 percent of women and occurs when pieces of womb lining is found outside the womb. Trans fat can be found in processed foods, fast foods and fried foods.


2. Red meat




Studies have also shown that red meat consumption can increase your risk of developing endometriosis. Red meat can influence estrogen levels directly by exogenous exposure of sex steroid hormone. Try and replace red meat with plant based foods which can contribute positive health benefits. Consume more of fruits and vegetables for the sake of your womb health.


3. Alcohol





Alcohol is not good for a woman to take and can be more dangerous if she is pregnant. Drinking of alcohol during pregnancy can affect the developing fetus. It can also damage and affect the cells of the baby. Too much intake of alcohol can also damage the womb and other vital organs in the body hence avoid it.
